Oversized Sweater

An oversized sweater is a new 2020 fashion trend that I recently adapted to this year. Before I used to think it’s weird when seeing women in K-drama with this style. It kind of brings back the 90’s baggy style clothes which are not so feminine in my opinion.

I never really liked to wear big sweaters because it can make your body figure look less feminine, yet give you that bulky and boxy look instead. Although it’s quite comfortable but difficult to achieve the perfect look. In my opinion I think you’ll need more jewelry & accessories in order to style this fit and make it work.

Here’s an oversized sweater from my wardrobe. It’s wool, so the feel of this sweater is luxurious. I think this piece can be great. Especially with this large V-neck collar style you can have it draped over your shoulders to show off your collar bone which is the most desirable body feature on a woman. Having a strong collarbone will definitely bring out the sexy and classy look.

Also if you add a pair of skinny fit jeans it can balance your frame to give that off-duty vibe while running errands or grocery shopping during the day. As you may know being inside a supermarket can sometimes get pretty chilly so having a big sweater is perfect for this occasion as well.

Trying something new. Indoor photoshoot for the first time since the air quality wasn't good.

An outfit that I had put together before my photoshoot.

I choose a distressed skinny jean because I think this style and design will draw attention to the eyes and make my simple plain white sweater pop out even more.

Have a great weekend!

Castello di Amorosa Castle

It's so heartbreaking to hear the news that my hometown is on fire again for the second time within the last 3 years. I don't know if you guys remember a blog post I wrote, briefly mentioning about the Santa Rosa Tubb fire that happened in 2017.

Click here to read about it, Domaine Carneros

What makes me really sad is to know that one of my favorite winery spots that I always go to to take fashion photos was partly destroyed by the Glass wildfire yesterday, 9,28,20.

This Winery is very beautiful with European style Castles. It's only about 30 mins from Santa Rosa, and when you're here it feels like you're in another country. The view is absolutely amazing. This is why I love coming to this place to relax and take pictures.

Here is a throwback photo of me in 2013 about 7 years ago posing for a photoshoot for my fashion blog. It's one of the memories that I have at this Castle. I had planned to re-visit this place again in the summer of 2020 however after the Pandemic break out all plans had to be canceled.

First Day of Fall

Yesterday, 9.22.20 was the first day of Fall. I am really sad that summer is over and just can't believe how time flew by so fast that now we are almost at the end of the year. I remember the month of March 2020 like it was just yesterday. Many unfortunate things had happened in that month for me. However I'm not going to ramble or vent about it. I'm just so grateful to be alive and have my family with me. This year 2020 is tough for many. We'll just have to change our mindset and look at the positive side of things.

- Forever 21 Coat

(Yesterday I made a quick trip to the bank unaware that it's the first day of fall, forgot to wear a jacket or a coat and it was pretty windy outside.)

Since the weather is getting cooler I had to dig out my suitcases for sweaters and coats.
I usually store all my winter clothes away in suitcases during the summer time to make spaces inside my closet. This is also a good way to keep them odor free. I also do this to most of my silk clothing. The only downside is it does get a little wrinkly over time as you can see here in this photo.

This brown/tan coat is one of my favorite coats to wear during the fall/winter. There is also a fur collar piece that can be attached as a part of this coat. I usually attach it on during winter whenever I want to feel warm and cozy, or just to achieve that classy look. This coat can be a classy fit if paired with the right outfits.

Here's a few accessories that I've put together for the fall theme.

- Xander paige collection face shield
(This face shield is a "2020 must have" item. Honestly I'm so happy with my purchase. I plan to add more to my collection. If you're interested check out their IG page.)

- J'Adore Dior in Joy
(This perfume was a gift from a good friend from France.)

- Dior nail polish in the color "Milly"

- YSL face primer
(Product does not work so well but I love the luxurious fragrant smell.)

- Marc Jacob watch in gold tone

(My 2017-2019 makeup look)

- Mac lipsticks
- Mac concealers
- Mac lipliners
- Mac eyeliner pods
- YSL blush
- YSL foundation
- Dior glasses

I used to love wearing dark lip colors during the fall and winter seasons. However, this year I won't be wearing any of these lipsticks, only a face cover mask until this whole pandemic is over.

Midsummer breeze

Here's another one of my biker jackets that I own. This style is different from my other black one. Because it doesn’t have the puffy arm sleeve which makes it simple and easy to wear. I find this jacket much easier to style because it can go with most of my outfits. The material is a lot different as well. Since this one is real leather the only con is it’s much harder to clean/maintain.

As some of you know whenever I go on live stream I’m usually in my tank tops and shorts, this is due to the heat sources from my PC & ring light. At times it can get really stuffy inside the room.

I’ve owned many different tank tops but my most favorite one is this white top with black spaghetti straps. I’ve used this top many times throughout the years & the fabric still stayed the same. The quality is amazing which came to a surprise to me since that’s pretty rare to find in Forever 21.

In here I’ve put together my “Outfits of the day” look from my wardrobe. This style is great for midsummer nights. As some of you may know California weather is hot during the day but gets pretty chilly at night. This fit is great for that midsummer evening breeze. Not too hot nor too cold. The perfect balance, and a fashionable chic street style look.

.
.

Unfortunately I never got to do a fashion photoshoot for the past weekends due to the bad air quality & the heat wave we've been experiencing throughout California. Since the air cleared up this weekend I took the opportunity to go outside in my backyard and snap a few photos.

I layer my light blue stripe flannel shirt over my favorite tank top. Decided to wear black leggings underneath my shorts as well. I love how the color combination and patterns plays out in this outfit.

Oh you know just chilling here while shelter in place.

Don't forget to wear your mask if you're going to be outdoor.

Bucket list of local spots to visit

Here are some of the local places that have been on my bucket list since forever! Well not really, more like since I’ve moved out here to the Silicon Valley Lol

- Tyme for Tea & Co in Fremont
(I never experienced high tea before. I have put together a perfect "outfits of the day" for this event.)

- EMC Seafood & Raw Bar in Santana Row, San Jose
(There's a hype about this place and since I love Uni I must try it out.)

- Mountain Winery in Saratoga
(Since I'm a Sonoma County/Wine Country girl I love relaxing at places like these it gives me a sense of peace.)

- Rose Garden in San Jose
(I love pink roses, and this would be a great place to do a photoshoot.)

- Signature Tea - The Rotunda, San Francisco
(SF, not really local but it isn't too far away either. I've been to Neiman Marcus numerous of times but never ate at the top level.)

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

These are the places that I have visited before, and had plans to revisit again. However, that plan is probably not going to happen anytime soon due to the pandemic.

- Japanese Photobooth Eastridge mall in San Jose
(This time I want to take photos of myself only, not with friends. lol

- Ardenwood Farm in Newark
(Sadly, I didn't get a good photo with that house, maybe next visit. It'll be for a fashion photoshoot.)

- Scott Seafood in downtown San Jose
(This is my all time favorite seafood restaurant due to their high quality.)

- Korean town in Cupertino / Saratoga
(I've been here for my birthday a couple of years ago, but I wanna go back to explore more restaurants.)

- Mitsuwa Marketplace in San Jose / Cupertino
(Whenever my sister visits we always go here, and I love this place. They have yummy Japanese food in packages. It really reminded me of the Uwajimaya Japanese market when I lived in Seattle. It's one of my favorite spots to chill at.)

These are my bucket list of local places to visit.

My Timeless Beauty Fragrant & Fashion

I’m usually very picky when come to perfumes since most fragrance can be strong and overwhelming which can linger on your clothes for days. Due to this reason it makes me feel easily bored of the scent.

However, if I have to choose my top favorite perfumes that I’ll never get bored of, it would be the perfumes in the photo here. These four are part of my collection that I’ve own and they are my absolute favorite.

1. Christian Dior - Blooming Bouquet
2. Christian Dior - Dior Addict 2
3. Versace - Bright Crystal
4. Gucci - Gucci Eau de Parfum II

If you’ve been a long term followers of my fashion blog on blogspot then you’ll probably recognize this jacket in one of my post here, "A lil celebration for the start of 2015". Many years ago I owned another jacket similar to this style but unfortunately I had sold it. Because at that time I really needed money.

Throughout the years I really miss this jacket and regret my decision. The color of this jacket was rare. I’ve tried to look for this jacket again but couldn’t find one with the right color tone. They had other shades of pink but not the exact one. This baby pink color with this style was hard to find. Recently I came across this jacket on Poshmark new with tags. Glad that I was able to re-purchase another one again. I can't wait to pair it up with my awesome outfits!

More Life RECAP! 2018-2020

WOW! I can't believe I neglected my blog for almost 2 years. There are a lot of things that needed to be said and more life recap. I don't even know where to begin lol.

So it looked like my last post was on my 31st Birthday and I'm 33 now. It's crazy how time flies.

After I moved out of my hometown I started working non-stop with two jobs. As a Waitress sever and Beauty advisor. Then later upgraded to work in Real Estate as a career. Everything happened so fast within the past couple of years.

2018 March - October

These months went by really fast. A lot of events happened during that year. All I remember was after my Hawaii trip I started my new job in Real Estate then it became a job that I actually truly love. My boss, co-worker and everyone in the company was super nice. Around the summer time my family got evicted out of the home we've been living in for over 25 years. It was rough. I didn't realized but it hit me later that I was going to be homeless. I remember it was a very scary feeling. I rented a room with a relative and just worked and try to save as much as I can.

2018 October - December

Several months later I got transfer to work in a different city. New job, new faces, new environment. Just as I thought everything was going great then later I lost my job due to a "friend" whom sabotage my career. Long story short, I took this event as a energy fuel and told myself to remain strong and move forward. I've became a full time streamer. I put my all in this side job and made it into a full time job.

2019 January - May

After streaming night and day with less hours of sleep my body was getting weak. Long story short, I almost got kidnap by waiting for my doordash delivery. This event made me so traumatized and gave me bad anxiety. My body went through a shock and I got really sick. Had to undergo a surgery in the Emergency Room. It took me about half a year to recover due to the antibiotic which depleted all the good and bad bacteria from my body. I wasn't able to really eat anything because due to having a weak stomach. I lost a lot of weight. Not only that, I couldn't stream anymore (need time to recover). I lost my income and my viewers/fans. I was depressed.

2019 June - August

As time went by I slowly recovered. I got back into streaming again doing mostly IRL. I also became a Vlogger which has always been my dream. I started making more traveling Vlogs and living the life I wanted. After being sick in bed all year long I'm so grateful to be able to be back on my feet exploring places again. After I thought everything was going good then unfortunately I got sick again with a condition called Silent reflux. It's a condition from consuming acidity food and spicy food which cause a scar in your voice box. It was so painful I couldn't eat solid food. I wasn't able to talk or sing or really use my voice. I was mute. I couldn't socialize with friends, do live stream or make YouTube.

2019 October - November

I started a new job. I wasn't planning to communicate with anyone due to my throat pain, but later I've made some awesome new friends. I love my job it was so fun. Not a strict environment and you basically get to do whatever you want no boss on you. In a way it felt like being in high school all over again just laughing and chilling with your friends lol.

2019 December

I got really sick in December. I haven't gotten sick with a flu or a cold since 2016 so my body didn't heal that fast as I thought it would. I had a really bad sinus that lingered for a long while which caused me even more sick later down the road....

2020 January

January was my new start of the year with 2020 resolution. I remember I wrote this exact quote before the year started. "Now it's 2020 I'm really hoping and wishing for life improvement on my goal, career, health, and meeting the right people in my life." it was to mean I met someone very special to me, but also made my world turned upside down. I went through a spiritual awakening, again for the second time. A rude awakening. Regardless of what I went through, I'm still very grateful to have met this person in my life.

2020 February - April

I was so sick in these months which lead me to being hospitalized. I was in and out of conscious. It was so hard to overcome everything, but I did it. A big change I had to go through.

- Let go of my ego

- Forgiveness - Forgiving others and myself

- Unconditional love and self love

- Peaceful mind

- Patient

- Have faith and trust

2020 May - September

Since Quarantine started I've been shelter in place and just been self reflecting on my life and working on my dream goals. Aside from my main stream income I was able to do more of the things I love. My hobby, such as making some Vlogs and pushing out more Videos. Stream on my free time. I started selling more clothes on Poshmark and promoting my business by reaching out to friends and family for support. <3 I'm so grateful to have them in my life. In fact I'm so grateful to be alive and breathing after everything I had gone through.

Currently I've been trying to get back into fashion blogging again and making more fashion related post like my "Outfit of the day".

Overall throughout my journey. I've learned to love myself unconditionally and realized that I should not give a fuck anymore of what others think and just live my life being happy. I'm tired of trying to please other people. This journey is all about ME. Like I mentioned before life is too precious and I'm grateful to be alive and well. :)

Here's a recent photo of me testing out my new Sony vz1 camera while being silly in my blonde wig.

A photo of me in May, 2020 during my recovery time.
When I made the decision to model my own clothes on Poshmark with the effort to make consistence sales.

My Birthday recap in March

I know I'm so late to post thing but this past months has been a ridiculously crazy busy/rollercoaster ride for me. Here's some photo to sum up my 31st birthday from the week of March 17th.

Love my Hello Kitty Balloons!!

Got to celebrate my birthday at my favorite steak restaurant LB, this place is awesome and they can never go wrong with your steak. I will never get tired of this place!

Didn't get a proper birthday cake but at least I got to finish the day off with some awesome dessert.

We also celebrate at this Korean bbq spot that I never tried. It was a hidden gem. They have raw crabs  with eggs yummmm! Something I truly missed back in my Sihanouk Ville vacation in Cambodia. We got Wagyu beef and it was so delicious!!

Typical bar hopping in downtown San Jo!

Here's an awesome picture to end the blog!!

Again, such a delicious delicacy.

(rare to find a restaurant that serves this in the US)

February - Visiting the hometown

Since I got back from my Hawaii trip in late January, 2018 seemed to past by so quickly. We are already in the spring season.

Spring is usually the busiest time of the year for me. Starting in the month of February, there were many events and personal things on going in my life such as big events, ceremony and tax return. The first ceremony in February was Meakes Bouchea Holiday, it is a Buddhism Holiday celebrating the anniversary death of Buddha which also happened to be the 1 year death anniversary of my Grandma, Prom Deng. She passed away last year on February 11th. Followed by Valentine's Day celebration.

March will be another busy month for me since my 31st birthday on St Patty's Day. Upcoming Khmer New Year celebration in April. It's usually the biggest celebration of the year in my culture. May will be my 1 year anniversary and my late Grandma birthday on the 5th of May. She will be 98 this year if she was still alive.

I have been visiting my hometown a lot lately going back and forth to Santa Rosa. Here's one of the hotel that we stayed at. Beautiful balcony view.

At the Khmer Buddhism temple giving offering to my late Grandmother (Yeay).

We stopped by to eat at this hipster spot, Bird and the Bottle.

Oh you know, just bored on my phone, hungry and waiting for our food.

I just had to order Poke since I still had the Hawaii food craving.

This is the best Bimbibop I've ever had! Very flavorful! I have to admit it's even better than the original Korean restaurant.
We joked about the "beggar bowl" (our tvb dramas inside joke).

I love how they show their kitchen in the open and all the plates are clean and neatly stacked.

Later we stopped by Monti's for their Happy Hour. If you know me I love Happy Hour!!

Italian Soda, one of my fave!

Dungeons Crab Deviled Eggs!

Raw Chill Oysters

BBQ Oysters!

Calamari, Truffle French Fries, and Smoked Salmon Rillettes

I wasn't impress with the Smoke salmon dish, neither was the calamari and fries but the Oysters and crab Deviled eggs wasn't bad at all. However, I prefer oysters from their other restaurant, Stark's Steak House.

Hawaii off the Bucket List

Hawaii has always been a travel destination on my bucket list. It is known as the dream vacation for many people and an escape from reality to the island of paradise. Before coming to this trip, I was very nervous and overwhelmed at the same time and didn't really know what to expect of Hawaii. I've heard many great things about this place from friends and families. I've been told Hawaii has tropical weather very similar to Cambodia; they have the same tropical plants and fruits naturally grown, and it's a paradise beach great for vacation etc. After hearing all of these exciting stories and seeing many beautiful photos being shared I had to book the tickets and experience it for myself.

(Aloha!!!!!)

Prior to my trip I created a bucket list of the things I wanted to do while in Oa'hu. If you know me I am not the type who likes to do tourist attraction things. I can't stand crowded places with a bunch of people or waiting in ridiculous long lines just for the hype. It can be very overwhelming and stressful. This is not my ideal type of vacation. I am a simple person who likes my own space, and on my getaways I prefer to enjoy my premium time by relaxing at a private beach resorts or just chill at a place with fewer surroundings.

Here are my "things to do" on my bucket list. I kept it very simple.

- Try out the famous Hawaiian Poke
- Check out the Sephora beauty shop
- Check out the Dior boutique
- Check out the Galleria mall
- Breakfast in bed hotel complimentary
- Swim at the beach
- Relax in hotel pool/Jacuzzi
- Try out a Hawaiian organic tropical refresher
- Eat at Ranging Crab
- Watch the famous Hawaii romantic sunset glow
- Catch a view of the Hawaii famous rainbow

I was able to complete most of the things on my list except a couple.

Upon my first arrival in Hawaii airport the first thing that popped in my mine was flashback memories of Cambodia. The tropical humid temperature, stifling, and sultry smell of the place was exactly how I imagine Hawaii to be like. It's funny how our brain just automatically reverts back to past memories of a time and place from certain scents.

During our car rides from Honolulu airport to our hotel in Waikiki we were all burning hot and sweating like crazy. The weather and time zone really did hit us especially coming out from a cold plane with layers of jackets on to being in a car ride on our way to the rental with the heater literally being on blast.

(views from one of our balconies)

(The Hawaii magical rainbow appeared right in front of our balcony. What a perfect view!)

Unfortunately the hotel we stayed at did not provide food complimentary nor any water bottles (Hotel has many flaws; not going to rant on here though). Luckily there is an American breakfast spot right next to where we stayed. "Eggs n' things". The food there was amazing!!

I ordered Crab cake Benedict and it came with a side of pancakes (w/guava, coconut, & chocolate flavor syrup), wow what a deal! Not only that, the Crab Benedict was a large jumbo size similar to a huge burger. Better than I what had expected! It tasted so good and fresh. So heavenly, words cannot describe. Probably yet the best Benedict I've had so far, and the best breakfast of my trip in Hawaii.

Fresh fruits it's a must while in Hawaii. I got the large fruit cup filled with tropical guava, papaya, strawberries, blue berries and banana.

After about 10 attempts finally got a picture in front of the Sephora without tourist walking into my photos.

So happy I got to do my shopping during our trip. I will post about my hauling in my future up coming blog entry.

Every single day in Hawaii, I have eaten numerous amount of Poke to the point I have gotten tired of it. I had to try it all out since my intention for this trip was to "Eat all the Poke til I get sick!!". There were some really fresh ones and some that are not so fresh but still good.

(Fresh Poke for lunch while on our way to North Shore)

I was looking forward to a Poke bowl bar with the choices of dice mango, seaweed salad, sweet corn, edamame, masago and ginger etc. These are what the common Poke spot serves in the Bay Area. However, I guess that didn't exist in Hawaii, or perhaps I haven't came across one yet. They only serve Hawaiian Poke alone in a single bowl or as a side in some Japanese dishes. I admit it was pretty hard to consume plain raw tuna Poke without any ginger on the side or other veggies as side dishes (onions excluded). Out of all the Poke I've had, there was only one that came with shredded romaine lettuce and it was from a mini outdoor restaurant located in front of Waikiki beach.

Near the end of my stay I had to try out this Poke Tuna Taco and compare it to my all time favorite from "Stark's".
I requested all sauces on the side due to the overwhelming of spicy mayo sauce.

If you know me I am a regular at Starbucks and a refresher type of person who always order the same drink, "Very Berry Hibiscus". I love tropical fruit ice tea drinks and was fortunate to have came across this tropical refresher that you can only get in Hawaii and no where else. I forgot the name of the drink, only remembered it had pineapple, passion fruit and other berries.

My first impression of Hawaii beach....

Honestly I had really high expectation of Hawaii beaches but it was pretty disappointing. I don't know why people speak so highly of Hawaii. I guess for some people that never experienced nice beaches the brown/tan sand may be paradise to them. However, coming from my experiences of my first tropical beach was in Sihanouk Ville, Cambodia, with pearl white sand, crystal clear teal water and private luxury resorts. It is also known as the Maldives of Cambodia. I guess nothing can't even come close to compare to that feeling of paradise and the love at first sight I had when first arrived at Krong Preah Sihanouk beach. I really thought Hawaii beach was going to be similar but it didn't even came close. If I had to compare the Hawaii beach I would say the blue color is similar to a few nice lakes in northern Washington State. On the bright side the water is nice and warm.

Although I didn't get to swim in our hotel pool at least I got to dip my body in the ocean.

Waikiki beach was packed with a bunch of tourists so it was very difficult to capture a nice photo without random people walking into it.

The Golden Hour.

We had a nice romantic picnic at the beach while waiting for the golden glow hour then took many beautiful natural photos without the need of any filters. #nofilters

We waited for the sun to go down to watch the sunset.

Hawaii sunset

I wanted to witness the famous photos of the beautiful romantic Hawaii sunset with the tint of purple and orange glow.

It was a beautiful glow however not the exact one I had pictured in mind.

I am glad we ended our day with the beautiful romantic sunset.

Hawaii, you were great. Until we meet again. Aloha and Mahalo!
